Events and Partnerships |

| elephant is extremely grateful for the ongoing
support, resources and advice given by the community groups (listed
in workshops and links
) we are currently working with.
In addition to these groups elephant is working with a growing
number of galleries during 2006 and 2007. These partnerships are
built upon a shared aim, to provide visually impaired and blind
people with increased opportunities to visit contemporary galleries
within their communities, for exhibition tours, discussion forums,
and the chance to make new work in response to current exhibitions
of contemporary art. The community groups elephant currently works
with, are all invited to attend these events and many are open to
independent participants. Please contact elephant for forthcoming
events.

Bluecoat Arts Centre Liverpool, Liverpool
elephant and LVSB participated in Bluecoat’s ‘Way
finding’ project in July 2006. During the dramatic redevelopment of their
grade one listed building Bluecoat selected artists
to collaborate with community groups in the liverpool area. Through
workshops, each group explored and commented on the wider issues
of access to a gallery space, in anticipation of Bluecoats reopening
in 2007.
There are also plans for future events involving local visually
impaired and blind people, elephant and the reopened Bluecoat Arts
Centre. See 'workshops'to view images from the project.
